Latest Updates from Our Project:

Citadel at Nordvorn updated 2019-05-13 Sent out
almost 5 years ago – Mon, May 13, 2019 at 08:47:29 PM

Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of one John B. Harmon IV, plus some keen-eyed others, I've updated the file one last time (well, to you. It took me five spools to get it here).

I will be exporting this as my printable file, and getting it to the printer today.

Thanks for joining me on the journey. As I work out with my printer the details and timeline, I'll keep you updated.

Title Page Updated
almost 5 years ago – Mon, May 13, 2019 at 02:45:42 AM

I nearly made an unforgivable error, and my title page was incomplete. The next file sent out will have this instead, which has all the proper credits, including some additions for proofers who have done such a great job.

Here's the new page, and I wanted to call out attention to first, my error-to-date, but also the fix: all artists, and the editor, now have website information listed. In the PDF, these will be live links.

Final PDF is on the way; Print file spooled as well
almost 5 years ago – Sun, May 12, 2019 at 02:03:04 AM

Thanks to a lot of eagle-eyed and detail-oriented work by some of you guys, who are now credited as proofers in the front of the book, what is intended to be the final PDF for Nordvorn is on its way to you.

On Monday morning, I hope to send the final files to the printer, which will start the generation of physical rewards. At this point, that's all that's left: printing the books and bookmarks and getting them to you.

If you spot any remaining typos or errors, I can correct them by about 7am Monday morning, Central Time. Note that not all of what was sent to me was an error, so not all were changed. Even so: I'll make the book as perfect as I can before I print 750 of 'em.

Thanks for bearing with me!

Relationship map takes shape
almost 5 years ago – Sat, May 11, 2019 at 03:55:18 PM

Obviously not much relationships yet, but I'll do that last, after all the text is in and the spacing is where I want it to be. The page is rotated 90 degrees clockwise (obviously)

Cover test print
almost 5 years ago – Fri, May 10, 2019 at 12:54:38 AM

I just got my first sample of my printer's output - a full-color proof of the cover.

The color is absolutely glorious. You can't see it unless you hold the print, but the shouting warrior's eyes and face are VERY vivid, especially in full sunlight.

I'm setting to work on the relationship map tonight - I've been sick, and moving to a new house (and sick of moving to the new house, frankly) - but this one last piece is the LAST piece. Then maybe a quick file send-out, to make sure nothing obvious got missed, and then all files will be in the printer's hands.

And it's a good thing I've been checking that, too. An accidental deleted line almost gave us Fantastic Dungeon Grappling without a cover! I sent the file over, and they were like "whaz this for?" "My cover?" "What cover?" "Um, the cover for the book?" "Oh, we'll have to requote that." "Yeah, please do."

That would have been a rude surprise.

In any case: not far now.

And because I simply can't rest, nor allow myself time to breathe: a new project.

Four Perilous Journeys: New Adventures for The Fantasy Trip

This project started off strong, and like Norðvörn, will hopefully find some synergy with the Decks of Destiny kickstarter being run concurrently by Steve Jackson Games.
